The Open Forum on Planning and Enhancing EU-Western Balkans Cooperation
On the same day, 15 November 2019, the Open Forum on Planning and Enhancing EU-Western Balkans Cooperation on Justice and Home Affairs (JHA) took place at EPOKA University.
The Dean of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lisen Bashkurti, delivered the welcome speech focusing on the importance of the EU accession perspective for the Western Balkans and the relevance of Italy as a strategic partner for Albania. Prof. Teresa Russo, Module Leader and Professor at the Department of Legal Sciences of UNISA, gave a general presentation on the aims and scope of the EUWEB Module with an emphasis on the opportunities it provides for engaging the teaching staff and students from EPOKA in the various activities of the module.
Dr. Erjon Hitaj, Head of the Department of Law at the University of Vlora “Ismail Qemali” and adjunct lecturer at the Department of Law of EPOKA University, dealt with EU-Western Balkans cooperation on cross-border security. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anna Oriolo and Dr. Gaspare Dalia, Key Staff members of the Module and professors from the Department of Legal Sciences of UNISA, focused respectively on EU-Western Balkans cooperation on transnational crime and EU-Western Balkans judicial and police cooperation.
